Was this review helpful? After losing his wife and child, undercover cop John Hebron (Gooding Jr.) is struggling to forgive himself for not saving them. Cuba Gooding Jr's performance gained momentum as the movie progressed, however his character was not memorable, though that was probably due to a bad script.
The film is based on the book Sacrifice by Sharon Bolton Gooding's performance is nothing special, and Slater is unconvincing and unintentionally amusing playing a priest. This film was released direct-to-video. Was this review helpful? They are not the problem here.
All things considered though I did enjoy the movie He hijacks a statue of the Virgin Mary made of heroin paste and ransoms its location to his former employer (guess how that works out). And it's nice to see a Canadian movie actually set in Canada (though at times the movie seems reluctant to admit that fact.) Devon Bostik is laughable as a drug dealer - I mean really, Wimpy's kid's big brother is now a tough guy? The acting isn't stellar but it's pretty doggone good. 0 out of 0 found this helpful. But overall, the movie is very forgettable. 1 out of 1 found this helpful. The factoids were pretty meaningless too. Apri il messaggio e fai click sul link per convalidare il tuo voto. To be fair, the end results are somewhat better than "Lies & Illusions". It would be nice to see him get out of the Seagal, Kilmer & Snipes-like direct-to-video movies though and back into main stream movies. -

The movie is rather dark and gritty, i was not expecting this after scanning through "The List". Se vuoi saperne di più 0 out of 2 found this helpful. 1 out of 4 found this helpful.
Mike, a young drug dealer wants out. - A mixed bag of reviews didn't help so I watched it.
Rather, it is clear that Rook is trying *really* hard to impress his dad, and is trying to show off to Mike about what a tough guy he can be because, below the shallow facade he presents to the world, he's afraid: afraid of not living up to his father's standards, afraid of being called out as a coward (that's why he bullies Mike: to maintain that alpha male status he's yearning for), scared of showing mercy for fear of retribution, etc. The drugs made into a statue, and put into a church by mistake. As a fan of Mr. Gooding Jr., I watched Sacrifice with a smile; I liked the cast, I liked the plot, and I ended up liking the movie. I was a little disappointed. Synopsis. And yes, I cried a wee bit at the end...whether it was happy or sad tears will remain a secret.
However these plot lines are put together with such a lack of skill that this film is irritating from the start. Oh there is some eye candy for both sides, again cliché! He has the talent for them still. -
A plot that has so much potential ends up being slow moving and never given the push it needs to make it as interesting as it sounds.
